The Shrine Down The Hall

Ashley Gilbertson assembled this photo essay of the bedrooms of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and lovingly preserved by their parents and family.  It won the annual award of the American Society of Magazine Editors and first appeared in the New York Times.  It is displayed here to remind us that Memorial Day on Monday is about the dead.
