Our friend, Bruce Gagnon in Maine, took part in a budget demonstration and noticed how few signs had to do with military spending and war.  Sign-makers and speakers are consciously leaving war spending out of the budget equation.  Jane Dugdale and I joined a budget rally in Harrisburg on May 3 and had a similar experience.  We carried two of the very few signs against military spending, and we were continually being congratulated by other demonstrators about them.  We must keep working to get out the word that the only way to solve our budget problems is to drastically cut "security spending."  You can help by putting us in touch with local groups who would welcome a short video presentation about safe security and consider sending a resolution to their congressmen.  See the first note in the right-hand column.
