Why Did Bales Kill 16 Muslims?

We assign different motivations and excuses to people who kill civilians - former football captains from Washington state are treated differently from hate-filled violent Muslims.  The excuses for Bales's massacre proliferate.  Please note that the all-American army sergeant was in Afghanistan.  The muslims were not in The Bronx.
