The people who run (and own) Bahrain treat its citizens with contempt.  They drown the people in tear gas - gas that comes from Pennsylvania.  Arms are now one of our major exports.  But what does it do to the reputation of the United States to be associated with such a government and such weapons?  Nicolas Kristof knows.
