Americans Want Mass Transit

Seventy-three percent of Americans want more mass transit.  One would think something with that approval rating would get some action from Congress.  Mass transit is good for air quality, burns less fossil fuels, and creates more good jobs.  Philadelphia is blessed with an excellent mass transit system, SEPTA, a legacy of the days of the Pennsylvania and Reading Railroads, that proves its worth every day.  Cities like Washington, DC, that started their systems in the '70's wonder what they would do without METRO.
